Marcelo Cipis graduated in architecture from USP (University of São Paulo) in 1982. While still a student, he began working as an illustrator for magazines and newspapers. His work as a plastic artist started some time later, with participation in salons and collective exhibitions. In 1988, he held his first solo exhibition, and in 1991, he participated in the 21st São Paulo Biennale. Since 2000, he has been dedicating himself simultaneously to his work as an artist, illustrator, and author.
