"The sight of a chalk inscription, in huge letters, made his heart almost stop and then race into an uncontrolled tachycardia. Instant karma’s gonna get you."
Alex, a 14-year-old boy, goes on an exchange program to Manhattan. Amid his studies, music sessions, and visits to the city's landmarks, he befriends people from all over the world in bustling New York. During his walks in Central Park, Alex meets and falls in love with Ana, a young soccer player. What he doesn't know is that this relationship will put his life at risk. John Lennon's music sets the tone for this suspense story, marked by the contrasts of life in one of the world's largest cities, which embraces foreigners in a contradictory process of inclusion and exclusion.
