I Invent in the Wind

,

Author: Álvaro Faleiros

Illustrator: Fernando Vilela

"In the corner, the sky disguises itself, wrapped in smoke, while the morning dishevels in its waiting hour."

As the expert on illustrated books, Sophie Van der Linden writes, the wind cannot be shown. Invisible to the painter, representing it is practically unfeasible. However, in this book, Fernando Vilela manages, as rarely happens, not only to make the wind visible, but also to make the reader feel it. The poetic text by Álvaro Faleiros is complemented by illustrations that faithfully enhance the white spaces of the text with an equally poetic universe full of imagination. Between the force and gravity of black and the lightness and movement of colors, the reader is taken by a swirling whirlwind of fertile imagination.
